This is the James Joshua Stephens Jr. Family. His father, James Joshua Stephens Sr. and Mary (Polly) Barrow immigrated to Warrick Co in 1822. All 11 of their children were born there.

Think the pictures was made about 1896/97 in Indiana, as James Joshua Stephens III was single at the time, he married Feb. 20, 1898. It was sent to JJ Jr.'s son Asa Monroe Stephens in Texarkana, Texas. JJ Jr and Talitha Stephens later moved to Ames Springs, Texas not to far from Texarkana. They are buried at Laws Chapel Cemetery out of Atlanta , Texas. We have photos of their markers if you are interested.

James Joshua Stephens, Jr. with beard, his second wife, step-mother of the two boys, Talitha Sarah Ann Ezell of Lawrence Co. Tenn. , James Joshua III and John Stephens in the middle.

Just an interesting side note., Talitha S. A. Ezell, was from the same family of Ezell's in Lawrence Co.Tenn that my grandmother is from. Think they were 2nd or 3rd cousins.

John Stephens - Spanish American War

James Joshua Stephens, III
This picture was made about the same time as the family picture, we just know it was before 1898.
