1. Adam3 Stinson (William S.2, Elijah Brazzill1) was born 1824 in Wayne County, Kentucky, and died 02 Jan 1895 in Warrick County, Indiana. He married (1) Harriet Miller 21 Sep 1848 in Vanderburgh Co., Indiana. She was born Abt. 1828 in Indiana, and died in Warrick Co., Indiana. He married (2) Margaret Davis 02 Aug 1855 in Spencer Co., Indiana. She was born 1836 in Indiana. He married (3) Jane Miller 17 Jun 1858 in Vanderburgh Co., Indiana. He married (4) Frances Stone 05 Jun 1864 in Spencer, Indiana.

In the pension application of Adam Stinson, he stated that he was in Co. I, 16th US Regt. He enlisted 3 April 1847 at Boonville to serve during the war with Mexico. He was discharged 8 June 1848 for "disability" at Monterey, Mexico as a private. There is no discharge certificate on file. Discharge 5 July in New Orleans. He was 23 in 1847, 5'11" tall, farmer. Adams S. Stinson used on sheet for 8 July 1875 from National Home for Disabled Soldiers. He was last paid on 4 March 1894; and was dropped because of death.

He lived in both Spencer and Vanderburgh County. Adam was enlisted as a musician, April 1847.

Adam and Sarah Tubbs were witnesses to the marriage of America Stinson and Joseph C. Price in Warrick County, Indiana.

Enlisted 3 April 1847 at Boonville to serve during the War with Mexico..Discharged 8 June 1848 for "Disability" at Monterey, Mexico as a private. No discharge certificate on file . Discharged 5 July in New Orleans.
He was 23 in 1847, (b. 1824); 5' 11 " tall, farmer. Adams S. Stinson used on Sheet for 8 July 1875 from National Home for Disabled Soldiers.
Disease: Chronic ulcer of right leg and general debility. In 1878 he was "inscribed" on the Pension list of the Indanapolis Agency at the rate of four dollars per month to commence on the 8th day of April 1878; this pension being for varicose ulcers on right leg.

In 1885 (Aug. 4) his pension was 24 dollars a month for ulcer of right leg and resulting anemia, heart disease and ulcer of rt. shoulder.

Last paid to March 4, 1894; Adam S. Stinson has been dropped because of death. Dated May 21 1896, Washington, D.C.

Adam, while in service at Monterey, Mexico was taken with sort of a fever - caused his hair to come off, one of his legs has perished away. He was a plasterer in Indiana where he lived after leaving the service, mostly in counties of Spencer, and Warrick. In Vanderburgh Co., was a plasterer. John M. App (of Vanderburgh County, and Charles Keller were witnesses when Adam made his mark declared for Invalid Army Pension.

Adam was listed as a musician, April 1847 in Co. I commanded by Capt. Bethell.

Misc. Note: Adam Stinson and Sarah Tubbs were witnessses to the marriage of America Stinson and Joseph C. Price in Warrick County, Indiana.

A marriage for Adam Stinson was found in Spencer County, Indiana to a Margaret Davis. on 2 August 1855 performed by James Bryant, J.P. [Note: This would make 3 marriages for Adam]

A divorce record for Adam Stinson and Lucinda Stinson was found in Vanderburgh Co., Indiana as having been granted on 28 April 1855. Recorded in Circuit Court Book I, Page 551. I have no record of a Lucinda with Adam, unless that was another name for one of his 3 wives.

There is a record in Clark Co., Indiana with "a" Adam Stinson the right age, shown as a prisoner in the Indiana State Prison and his occupation is shown as a brick mason. I don't know if this is the same Adam or another one, but show it here for interest or further research.

In 1875, Adam was shown as a resident of the U.S. Home for Veterans.
