Finding Our Warrick County, IN Ancestors

Veterans of  the Civil War from Warrick County

This list was donated by Jerri Houston.

"I have tried to compile a list of Civil War veterans in Warrick County, Indiana. The sources I have used were: Cemetery Record Books, Opal Phillips records, Internet sites, Court House records and Jacob Admire's account of the 65th Indiana Infantry.

I have found a lot of differences in these records. So I would not take any of this for Gospel. Some veterans looked as if they were in as much as three different infantries. This is because there were many men with the same names. Tombstones do not agree with other records on infantries and death dates.

One article states there was over 2000 signed up from Warrick County. One article said that on 16 Sept. 1862 there were 994 volunteers that had signed up."

Please use it only as a start for your research. As Jerri stated above, there were many different dates and regiments for the same men.
