Submitted by Tamara Kincaide

DR. JASPER DUBOIS was well like especially by the ladies in town for he made promises to them he would not leave town. But the urge to move westward like so many settlers had done caught up to him and he sold his home and practice to another fine doctor DR. WILLIAM MALDEN in 1887.
DR WILLIAM M. WALDEN a native of Kentucky married NORA HUBBARD of Evansville, They had two children, and their daughter BONNIE preceded them in death.
Bonnie drown while swimming in the Ohio at a chicken roast in 1911 at Cypress Beach while attempting to save a young friend who was near drowning. The outings at Cypress Beach were quite popular with the younger crowd. Cypress Beach is now the location of the Newburgh Lock and Dam.

Drowning at these events were all too frequent due to the rocks when the river was high become treacherous. Their son REAVILL WALDEN became a prominent surgeon in Evansville but he also died before his parents in 1935.

DR WILLIAM M. WALDEN served as the house physician to Thornton Home and died in 1941 his wife died the year before.
