HENRY WIERE came to America from Prussia about the year 1851. He married CAROLINE SCHWARTZ on April 1 1851, together they had 8 children: John, Frances, Mary, Henry, Fredric, Caroline and Alvena. A bricklayer by trade, his brickyard was operated from the grounds of his home in Newburgh. His brickyard provided for many of the county's homes as well as the many brick walls that surrounded the riverfront area.
